Charlotte Community Library Scans

The Boyd Preston Genealogy File collection is an index card file cabinet full of index cards filed alphabetically by last name. These index cards contain information about early Eaton County people. The card file resides in the Michigan Room at the Charlotte Community Library .

Volunteers are coming in to the Charlotte Community Library to scan these cards to make them available on-line. The public is encouraged to join in this project of preserving history. The following pdf files are (cropped) images of the scanned cards as they are scanned from the drawers. Each person works on one separate drawer at a time, so the scanning will not be consecutive. For example, four people began the project and each one had their own drawer to begin. The next time we scan, each drawer will continue to be scanned until the drawer is done. The number of cards and the size of the file depends on how long the scanner was able to scan. These files may take a while to load. It is the intention to provide an index of names for these cards in the future. Because this depends on the availability of volunteers to index, we cannot estimate when this may be done.
